The condition of a public park in the city has become a growing concern for local residents, as it continues to fall into neglect and disrepair. What was once a peaceful place for families, children, and the elderly to relax and enjoy nature is now in a state of disuse and rising insecurity.
In a shocking development, not only is the park poorly maintained, but the main gate and several streetlights have been stolen, adding to safety concerns. Without proper lighting and secure entry points, the park has turned into a dark and unsafe area, especially after sunset.
Residents from the nearby locality have expressed deep disappointment. “This park was once a lifeline for the neighborhood. Now it’s filled with garbage, overgrown grass, and complete darkness at night,” said Harpreet Kaur, a daily walker. Several elderly citizens, children, and fitness enthusiasts who regularly visited the park now feel unsafe and avoid coming during evening hours.
